Why should Tiger Woods infidelity be private?
The majority of his income(in millions) comes from endorsements. A clean image helps to sell the products that a celebrity endorses.
He also publicized his family by doing magazine spreads and posing for public photos with the wife, 2 kids and the 2 dogs. (The perfect family sort of pictures)
Does a public celebrity deserve privacy regardless?

His money and notoriety comes from his God given talent, and the pleasure he gives all of us in watching it…. his private life is his alone.. and there is no need for us to be privy to any of the problems.
The idiot media however, think that they should be in every ones bedroom all the time. What a lot of sick people.
Tiger owes the public nothing when it concerns his private life… he did not kill his wife.. he did not rape anyone.. he did not steal…this is a family matter.
I bet it happens in the homes of media personal too… I think we should open up their private lives and see whats going on…
Yes, he deserves privacy. Of course, you in turn have the right to not buy the products he endorses. All of us make a living and most of us earn an income that is based on public consumption. The argument you make for why Tiger doesn’t deserve privacy could be used against almost all of us.
Oh, I love the guy above me’s answer. It would be totally awesome to see those in the media have their dirty laundry put on TV.

A "public" celebrity means just that. Tiger has disappointed the public that has supported him.
You are absolutely correct. It is mind-boggling that we have so many Tiger fanboys who can’t think that far bitching about protecting the guy’s privacy.
When he went "public" with all his endorsements, and golfing, etc….he went "public". That means good or bad. You can’t have it just one way. Public is public!

One reason why his personal life should be private. His work and his personal life is not related if he is not breaking the law. If you cheat on your wife while working on any other job, it’s not relevant and you will not lose your income because of it. He has the right to publicize pictures of his family when he wants, and to keep other parts of his life private. Everybody deserves that right, even celebrities. He makes his living playing golf, it’s not a reality show so we shouldn’t have a window into his personal life. I put pictures up on my myspace for the world to see (like he publicized his family pictures), that doesn’t mean I want people knowing all about what I do in my life, the things I do not post on my myspace.
