Get it through your heads, people! The separation of church and state protects church as well as state. I’m tired of hearing religious reasons for not supporting Gay Marriage or Abortion, etc. Keep your religion out of my bedroom and we’ll keep our government out of your church. I should be able to marry the man that I love without religious nuts getting in the way.
Why are we voting on issues like this to begin with? If it were left up to a vote, the south would never have been integrated.

I would like to know what are good reasons for doing this that do not involve loyalty to the rules of a certain religion? In other words, why should someone abstain from sex until marriage other than the classic "my religion says not to, so I can’t do it" cliche? Obviously not everyone agrees that people should abstain from sex until marriage, but for those of you that do, I’d like to know what you think. Thanks!

Hello y’ll, I am a Catholic by religion and I met a lovely girl who is a protestant and fallen in love. We are planning to get married this year on December but an issue is coming on who to officiate our wedding. She want us to wed outdoor in a garden but the catholic church has ruled that out recently in a statement issued by the Cardinal. She want us to move in the Catholic church after marriage and i don’t know how this will happen. Please help me out.

On United States currency, why does it say "In God we trust" if we have separation between church and state? Doesn’t this bring religion into government currency, insulting atheists?

I think he realized that the days of polytheism and idol worship were numbered and monotheism backed by a “holy book” was the new wave that would wash away old world religions. He must have also realized that Christianity had the genuine possibility of converting Arabs and making them subservient to Rome or Constantinople. He didn’t want this to happen so he knew he had to make up a monotheistic “holy book” religion just for Arabs. I think this was his motive; what do you think?

if the concept of church and state is actually to protect government from the church and vice versa…then there must be a role for each in our society…when the constitution was written it was the church that started hospitals, universities, schools, charities helping the hungry, etc…has the government over stepped its boundary by taking over schools, welfare, etc…or is the separation of church and state just an excuse to rid society of religion…after all a government that show no favoritism towards one religion it would be showing favoritism towards atheism…which in inequality issue…

If everyone claims that America’s Constitution calls for separation of church and state, than where is this clause? Did it really mean the religion is not to find its way into government? Why did our founding fathers use public facilities as places of worship? Why are there Bibles everywhere?
If it is not in the Constitution, why does everyone claim that it is?

My school is having a group called "Fields of Faith" come in and do some kind of a rally. From what I remember, if a school does something with religion, they’re not allowedt to promote it – only the group sponsering it can promote it. Our principals are making announcements about it on the loudspeaker. Is this a breech of separation of church and state?
And if it is, what can I do to stop it?
