I was in the hospital for a wk and a half lately and my husband (a soldier) decided to not call or visit so I called him to see what in the world was going on. He then told me out of the blue he wanted a divorce and he needs to change and nothing can help that. The 3 yr marriage has been a up and down one and he said if one day he changes his mind we may or may not try again ! UMMM NOT !!!
Anyway I just got out yesterday and it is so overwhelming to me right now. He just told me on the phne JAG said we could do a uncontested divorce onbase in court for like 0 ASAP. I told him I want advice from a civilian lawyer cause I have a few tumors etc and I would loose insurance etc and I want to be protected and he lost it and started yelling.
Do they really do these on cheap do your own divorces on base anyway and am I doing the right thing? I feel like he must be up to something to rush like this. He was like you can’t have my insurance for long anyway so you might as well and not go to a civilian lawyer and add more money and stress ! I don’t want him back but this seems odd to me ?
With this tumor I get confused at times so not sure how sound mind I am to think it all the way through right now and especially once they do surgery and radiation.
I had to reread the text to make sure I read right and he did say the Army does paperwork and all we do is appear in front of a judge. He is a liar ! I’m not gonna get a lawyer ! I’m taking these text to his freaking command ! If I get a lawyer I lose insurance and I need it for surgery ! I’m gonna show them the lies and harassment !
Duh I think I figured it out ! Bet it’s the BAH splitting thing he wants to end soon !!!!

I am a 35yr old female, and I was diagnosed on June 3rd of this year with Anal cancer. I would like to find some chat rooms and talk too people who are going (or been through) the things that I am. I have finished my radiation and chemo treatments. Now were playing the waiting game.
