those same papers. My wife was living in Mississippi at the time and signed the papers and had them notarized before moving back in with me in Texas. She still has a Mississippi drivers license. The Divorce is a simple one where she will let me have custody of our son and all is agreed on.

My aunt died on Feb-2007. She did not have a will in place when she died. She was a resident of Mississippi and had a 16 year old son. The father is still alive and resides in Chicago, however he is not paying child support for this child. Before she died he stopped paying child support because he had his employer start to pay him cash under the table. So that the child support wouldn’t be taken out of his check. How do we (the family) go after him for child support? He is not helping support this child and has said that he does not want the 16 year old living with him and his wife (he and my aunt were never married). Please if anyone knows what we should do, this is not right.

I have been told that it is law in Mississippi that it has to be in the divorce papers that if you have children you can not have overnight guest that are not related while the children are in your custody.
Is this true?

Okay, so I am 16 years old and I have a girlfriend I have been with for almost 3 years. If we make it, we plan on getting married somewhere when she turns 18. What I want to know is, where is gay marriage legal in America? I also want to know if I get a marriage license here in Mississippi, would I be able to get married in another state? Or would I have to get a marriage license in the state I’m getting married in? If so, would we have to live in that state that we got married in? If all else fails, we plan on getting domestic partnership, and I want to know where this is legal? I apologize for asking so many questions.. I just want to be prepared because we’ll both be turning 17 next month, which leaves us and our families a year to plan for the ceremony. Thank you so much for taking your time to read this, and please give me the best answer you have! Any information would really help me. P.S. Do any of you know if Obama is going to try to make gay marriage legal in more states? Thanks!

"Lee" makes .00 an hour and is ordered to pay 4.00 a month for child support and doesn’t even get 40 hours on the job. The order come from Illinois and "Lee" lives in Mississippi. "Lee" appealed last year and was given a telephone interview she knew nothing about. 2 of her checks was {content}.00 after support was taken out. The child turned 18 in July and is away at college. "Lee" doesn’t mind paying the support, but she can hardly get her bills paid. Does anyone know of a lawyer (maybe a legal aid lawyer) that sides with the parent paying support to get it lowered?

My kids and I are moving home to Ga, my husband has yet to find a job there and may have to stay in Mississippi for a while. I do not work. Can we file chpt 13 jointly while in different states? If we both filed in Ga, would the payments be allowed to come out of his check in Ms? He technically wouldnt be living in Ga yet, so it is possible for him to file in Ga?

Okay, its a long story. but I really need someone elses thoughts on my situation.
I’ve been with my boyfriend six years, off and on. I’m about to turn 20 and hes 22, we’re expecting our first baby boy in January. At the time that we decided to have a child things were going good for us, We had our own house, jobs, cars etc. Well when I found out I was pregnant I had this idea to move back home to let my family be with me for my child’s birth. My father never really has liked my boyfriend, but when I told him I was pregnant he seemed extremely happy. Now my dad is trying to tell me that we should get married and putting all this pressure on me and my boyfriend. I don’t want to ASK my boyfriend to marry me, we’ve talked about it before and he wants to wait till he has money to do it.. I’m not sure if its just an excuse cause hes not ready or what.. but, We’re currently staying with my dad and neither of us can find jobs, we’ve even tried Mcdonalds.. I was planning on giving our baby my boyfriend’s last name and my dad is giving me hell saying not to..
I trust my boyfriend and I know he isn’t going to try to take my baby, I’m happy not being married, if my boyfriend isn’t ready then he’ll ask when he is.. But my question basically is. Is there anything my dad can do? I know I’m considered an adult, but I also knows laws are really messed up nowadays.. Also, are there any places that can help find jobs for future mother/fathers? Or a way to get money to help buy objects for the baby thats needed? I already have WIC.
I live in Mississippi, if that helps at all.
Thanks for reading
Making a huge mistake?
Thats a bit harsh. How am I making a mistake? I came here for help with my problems, not to be insulted.
We don’t buy drinks, nor smoke.. I’m pregnant, not stupid
How are we able to save money if theres no source of income?
I know hes ready because it was his choice. We’ve talked about marriage a couple years ago and it worried me, i wasn’t ready. so I think thats why hes afraid to try again..
Seems like Lexi’s the only person not insulting me, Thanks Lexi. and yeah I’m not worried about being kicked out, I have my grandmother. I’m only at my dad’s so I can watch my sister for him while hes at work..
Last two answers really made me feel differently about Y!A. Thank you two very much for being supportive and not insulting me like the rest.
