so my wife and I are in the middle of trying to get a divorce and before ou say get a lawyer last time I checked my bank account I litterally had .25 cents in it. we are a classic example of why someone should wait we met june 30th 2008 married by august 29th 2008 and the last time we were in the same place was june 15th 2009. we had no kids and she isn’t pregnant neither of us has anything or wants anything from the other person …. atleast according to the papers I just signed and like I said neither of us has anything the other wants. I’m just wondering once we file where does it go from there. I have sites telling me it can be finalized in 30 days and other sites saying 6 months some sites saying we both have to go to court some saying only one person needs to show and some saying that if it’s uncontested and neither party wants anything we don’t even have to go to court the judge will just sign it and we’ll be notified in the mail when it official does any one actually know what will happen I’m trying to move to seattle to restart my life but need to know what to expect before I leave if you don’t know or are unsure please don’t answer I don’t need you wasting my time and money maybe you were in the same situation and can enlighten me. I can’t stress enough that she doesn’t want anything and neither do I other than to be divorced so this isn’t going to be some ugly divorce that takes years. any help

I found a bill in the mail yesterday showing that my husband has hired a divorce attorney. I committed adultery about two years ago and our marriage has not recovered from it. We have been sleeping in separate bedrooms for about 6 months. What do I need to do now? We own a home together and have three children under the age of 17. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. btw we live in Georgia.

My son is now 13 months. His father and I were never married. His father refused to come see him and pick him up. He has done nothing but make up excuses about why he will not come, see and pick him up. Now that I filed childsupport he wants visitation rights. And his mother and him have been harassing me every since he got his childsupport papers in the mail. What do I need to do about the whole visitation thing. Would he actually get to see the child after refusing to for a year now.

The ex just sent me a "Notice of Hearing and Calendar Request for Uncontested Self Help Divorces" form in the mail. My lawyer told me that I don’t have to appear in court for this but didn’t elaborate. I’ve done some research and still have no idea what this is other than the ex setting a date for us to appear before a judge to finalize our divorce. I feel like I’m bugging my lawyer every time I ask him a question…

My husband keeps asking for one, and even my attorney asked ME what he was talking about.
I thought it was just division of assets?
Does this mean I have something he wants?
Does he want money from me? b/c that’s what this sounds like..
Oh. I c. I don’t have a job so I’m not sure what he’s gaining by all of this, is what I’m getting at.
I "may" be recieving a check in the mail for something in the future, maybe, do you think he wants part of that $?
I know cabbie luvr is very wrong, b/c going before a judge costs a lot of $, it will not save me attorney fees, and I hope to avoid that (although I know it won’t happen)

So what to do next? I’m so confused.
Next is: 1. Mail origianl, 5 check and 2 copies to the court and court will mail me back the stamped with copy of certificate of counsel
2. My friend take that copy of certificate of counsel to him to sign or he keeps that copy???
3. What’s next???

I had a custody hearing last Thrusday. How long will it take until I receive the custody order from the judge?
The judge did not announce his decision at the hearing, and the attorneys are not the ones drafting the order, the judge is. I am supposed to receive the written order in the mail and I am wondering how long this usually takes.

My husband and I separated a month ago because we were fighting a lot, we aren’t divorced. We’ve been married 2 years. I am (was??) deeply in love with him…Anyway I got onto the laptop computer which I hardly ever use and went to Yahoo mail and I saw his email was saved with the password saved. I clicked in figuring I’d see horrible things and I was right. Many many emails to multiple women, ads on dating websites…the emails were telling women he loved them, talking about sex they had together, how he couldn’t wait to do it again. Graphic graphic descriptions of sex…and women who apparently thought he was in a relationship with him.

They went back a YEAR AND A HALF!!! Most of our marriage has been a complete lie, and I’m sitting here thinking of all the memories we had during that time that I cherished and they were all a lie. I can barely breathe anymore, the betrayal feels so deep and raw. I haven’t confronted my husband about this but I know I have to get a divorce..I just can’t understand how he could have done this to me. I don’t even know what I’m asking I just need help..I’m so lost. please give me advice.

About a month ago I received documents to appear at mediation court because the my ex wife filed for modification of our court order for child support and child custody being that the fact I started to prepare myself for that day. I went to get copies of my case to the court while in court I also decided to inquire of my scheduled court date the clerk could not find any information on my case the documents I received in the mail are not real.

I can’t send anything in the mail, because the actual day is only two days away. I want to know what are some ideas for things to do for my valentine. Also, we are not in a relationship, we are just valentines for that day.
