My husband and I have been divorced for a while and our separation was a nightmare because we both wanted our teenage children. Now our kids have finished college and our son and his girlfriend are thinking about getting married. They have been working on a prenuptial agreement for a long time and have even consulted with three different attorneys without success. The lawyers and everyone else we have talked with said that contract law can never be stronger than state law or federal law. If this is true, then why do people even bother with prenups? What should I tell my son?

is being sexually inappropriate ? asking personal questions ,fishing for details about your sexual preferences, dropping hints that you could pay his bill with sex and hugging and trying to kiss you good-bye ?
in the middle of the negotiations for the divorce agreement ?

and would such a lawyer have a reputation with other lawyers that justw alking into court with him makes you look like a whore ?
also calling your house up until 11:30 at night ,6 times in one night until you get home to schedule the after hrs ( because his schedule is full) discussion when no one else in in the office before starting that inappropriate behavior ?
how do I prove it ? could he sue me for liable or slander if I don’t have video or recording ?

also the kiss was on my cheek but it was passionate and trying to work it’s way down my neck so I got the hell out of there.

id use "ladies and gentlemen of the jury" but there isnt a jury in divorce court is there? i know nothing of court. i just need some lines that are stereotypical, as i said. good lines that can be used in jest against lawyers. i have to write a paper where im a divorce court lawyer for zeus and hera, so its not serious. i just need some snappy lawyer lines.

I live in NY, separated from my wife for about a year. In July, the divorce papers sent to my wife by certified mail. Receives and says she will sign, 30 days pass and called my lawyers saying that she will respond. Spend another week without receiving any answer. Okay, so me and my husband are going to get a divorce. I want to know how much they are. We might file for uncontested because we have nothing to split up and no kids. All he has is his car. So, I know it shouldn’t be a lot. I went on to several websites containing a divorce. So, how much are lawyers. Shouldn’t be too much being that we have nothing to split up and all.
And we have worked on our marriage a bunch of times.

I just received my divorce decree & the Judges ruling. It is SO obvious that this Judge is so in the wrong! I swear he was paid off or something. My ex is a contractor & has on more then 1 occasion worked out deals with lawyers & a judge in Montana to take care of his legal problems, like he did some building on the Judges house in exchange for him excusing all of my ex’s traffic violations. I have no doubt he’s capable of doing this again.

What happened at the trial was unbelievable enough (ie. when my ex was exposed for ILLEGALLY selling our house in 8/09 & took & spent 0,000 from it, never accounting for most of it, he did it without my consent & against court orders, to which another judge was considering holding him in contempt of court for, but this judge didn’t care, he got irate with me saying I was "wasting the courts time by even bringing it up" & that my ex "just made a mistake & it didn’t matter anymore…") When I tell anyone any of what happened, they think like I do, this Judge is not just unfair & bizarre, he’s outright WRONG!

The rulings however, is so outrageously unfair, I was SO SCREWED, I can’t begin to list the absolute insane rulings by this judge, who was 100% in my ex’s favor & 100% against me. I believe its at least in part because my ex could afford his lying lawyer & I couldn’t find a lawyer who would help me since I had NO $, so I had to do all the research myself. Trust me, I did NOT want to represent myself, but I had no choice, so I used whatever means I could, still having to spend 00 in legal & research fees (that I had to borrow because I have NOTHING since my ex financially abandoned me 16 months ago, before I even left him! Which BTW, I left him because of his abuse & neglect, I’m also disabled & often bedridden for months at a time, which I also proved in court that my ex contributed to my illness & harmed me physically, even poisoning me. All of it, according to the judge, "doesn’t matter.")

I filed EVERYTHING correctly & even presented my case exactly as I was supposed too, my ex AND his shyster lawyer both admitted at the trial that their records were incorrect about several things, admitted that my ex DID sell the house illegally. I proved this & so much more, I proved everything!!!

6 hours worth of a crazy trial, I was married for 21 years, I’m sick, my ex is an abusive lying mentally unstable barbaric dishonest JERK & I proved it all in court!!! & I still got screwed royally! I just can’t believe it.

I didn’t ask for tons of money, I just needed help with medical bills & some security, something??? After 21 years, I’m sick & he’s an admitted lier, he is in possession of hundreds of thousands of dollars (in $ & in marital property & assets,) ALL of which was proven in court, I’m in possession of a broken down 12 year old car & my laptop & 2 barstools, & I begged the courts for help, for 10 months I begged them, & I got NOTHING!!!!! Not even help to pay for medicine. I just don’t believe this!!!

So…. what can I do? How do you fight a judge?
Can you appeal a divorce case?
Can I have the judge investigated some how? Someone told me I can file a complaint, but then what? What happens after a complaint is filed? Does anyone care about complaints filed like that?
Someone else suggested I contact the newspapers in Alaska about this Judge, what do you think?

I got the court transcripts just sent to me too, BUT they’re just summarized, all of it, there isn’t ONE complete sentence in the entire thing, & some of it is even missing??? They’re not even full transcripts!

Everything is so blatantly obvious to me that something fishy is going on & I don’t know what I can do about it. Is there anything I CAN do? Anything at all? (Please don’t tell me answers like "Get a lawyer." I need real answers, this is my life, my whole life, this isn’t petty! I need some advice!

The biological person of my daughter is attempting to ruin my life by trying to contact my daughter after years of not paying child support and seeing her. He cussed me out the other day and told me he would see me in court, and that I can’t keep his daughter from him. I can write a 300 page book on why he can’t see her, but basically he is not a good person. I am trying to talk to a lawyer but they are so HARD to get ahold of. Any advice from law students or lawyers out there. I’m in California. Im very worried a judge may give some sort of custody because he/she may say it’s in the best interest of the child. (She is nine and hates him!)

Please don’t Say legal aid or Womens advocates or Courts self-help centers.
When you are poor and already sold everything and have maxed out credit, a retainer is not an option and
The lawyers will not take their payment out of finished settlement amounts.
Legal aid does not handle division of property in divorce and all the advocates have disappeared or are in hiding.

Are there any links or examples or advice on how to effectively present information to a Delaware Judge?

My ex and i filed for divorce a year ago in Indiana but judge couldnt grant it cuz she was pregnant.Time went on,she had the baby,but we fired our lawyers cause they charged too much.So we are trying to do this ourselves.What paper work would we need to get the ball rolling again?Its an uncontested divorce.

We do not have lawyers either, i just thought you go down to courthouse & sign papers & thought their might be a cost to sign them.
