I am currently working on my undergrad in Sociology and I know that counseling psychology with licensing as a marriage and family therapist suits my interests more, (I want to go into private practice and work with couples and individuals) but I’ve heard that the area I want to practice in, Southern California, has too many people working with these qualifications already. Some people have suggested that I get a masters in social work instead because there would be more job opportunities, but that type of work (hospitals, rehabs,etc) doesn’t appeal to me at all. I want to get a PsyD at some point, but probably won’t be able to right away. Can someone who practices in California in one of these areas give me an idea of which would be the better choice for me? Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any support groups for children with divorced parents in Henry County Georgia. My insurance does not cover phycologist and a friend advised me to look for a support group. I have called the county dept. and local hospitals and have had no luck. Do any of you know of any?

if the concept of church and state is actually to protect government from the church and vice versa…then there must be a role for each in our society…when the constitution was written it was the church that started hospitals, universities, schools, charities helping the hungry, etc…has the government over stepped its boundary by taking over schools, welfare, etc…or is the separation of church and state just an excuse to rid society of religion…after all a government that show no favoritism towards one religion it would be showing favoritism towards atheism…which in inequality issue…

Hopefully in the near future, my fiance and I are looking to get a puppy and I have always wanted to be able to go into hospitals, especially childrens hospitals, with my dog and give those kids a better experience.

We’re looking to get a Lab, Boxer, or German Shep. (Unless something else comes across out paths.) We live in SE Wisconsin, right around Milwaukee.

So basically, I’m looking for any and all information I can get about therapy dog training and certification.

I have a 7 month old Belgian Hare mix rabbit. He is very friendly. I was wondering how he could become a therapy rabbit and visit hospitals. Please answer asap!

According to their website: "Physical therapy works closely with HBII’s to assist in all injury assessments". I used to dance and would love to work with dancers or at least get some observation hours with the physical therapists who work with the dancers. The website is vague about which doctors or hospitals work with them, only stating that doctors are involved with the dancers injuries and training.

I have a 4 year old 3 legged Border Collie that has the personality of a Golden Retriever. I think he would do awesome visting hospitals for therapy type work. How do I get him involved? I’m in snohomish county in Washington State.
