On average, how selective are the programs? I have a year left of school and want to do occupational therapy now. I am a junior in college and have a 3.94 GPA, but my major is in history. Does my major matter a lot if I take all the prerequisites? And does one need A LOT of experience with patients, or will a little suffice? What kind of experience is good to have? Thanks so much for the info.
I am currently in a pre-physical therapy program in college, and would like to know what kind of GRE score and GPA that would be required to get accepted into an average program ( In Oklahoma there are two accredited programs at Langston University and Oklahoma University Health Science Center). 10 points to the best answer! Thanks!
My credentials:
I have a 4.9/5.0 GPA. My weighted class rank is #1 though because I took extra honors classes during my sophomore year(I am a science wiz so I decided to take anatomy and physics). I recieved a 30 on my ACT(which I know is not up to par). I have made varsity tennis all of my years, varsity soccer for junior and senior year. I am involved in the following clubs/organizations: National Honor Society(Vice-President),Spanish Club(junior year-treasurer/secretary;senior year-president(?),Peer Mediation,Scholastic Bowl(quiz team),Spanish Honor Society, and Key Club(Secretary). I write well and am sure that I can get good recommendations and write a more than valid essay. I have helped at an elementary school carnival and a christmas present shopping for the red cross as my service to the community. I live in Illinois (difference?).If you could respond as to whether you think I have a shot, then that would be splendid(don’t sugarcoat) advice to improve is also appreciated!
I’m the president of the student body, editor in chief of yearbook, president of rho kappa, vice president of the national honor society, historian of mu alpha theta, captain of my school’s flag football team, and a member of English honor society, peer mediation and science honor society. and in my junior year I was the vice president of junior class and French club and I was part of the principal’s advisory team. I have 100+ hours of community service, a 4.3 GPA, and I am currently taking four advanced placement classess. (calculus, European history, physics and English). But I have a 1090 sat score and a 25 act :[ what are my chances?

My dream schools are Emerson College and NYU for Journalism/Communications majors. I have a 3.964 GPA. I have taken 1 AP class and all honors. Have 2 years of Honors French and 1 of Latin. Can speak the following languages: Spanish, English (obviously), Romany, Calo, Catalan, Italian, French, and learning some Japanese and mandarin. I am listed as Hispanic, but aren’t really: I am British, Dominican, Taino, Roma, French, and Spanish (Spain). I have taken at least 4 years of all the major classes required also. I am in the book club, Model UN, NHS, Photography Club, Asian American Club, Peer Mediation, and do some community service. I fence and do archery, but aren’t in any school teams.
I am entering this fall a Senior and don’t think there is much to do at this point but trying. I am taking extra classes at the local state college, to get in into AP Calc. and possibly stats according to my teachers if I do that. I’ll have all honors and AP next year taking out Math. Can anyone help?
My fiancee and I am are looking at getting married February because of several facts and we love each other so much. But my family thinks I am WAY too young and her and I would not financially succeed. Here are the facts:
I am going to college on a full ride Army ROTC scholarship and I am a sophomore with a 3.8 GPA.
My fiancee lives in NV and I in MO.
We are both LDS and sex before marriage and living together is out of the question.
The long distance is hurting our relationship because human touch cannot be replaced.
We got engaged in July.
I’m 20 and will be 21 in May.
She is 19 and will be 20 in August.
We plan on getting an apartment and her working full time while I go to school with the Army and maybe get a part time job.
We have saved ,000 for her moving here and starting out.
We have not yet announced our wedding date since money and long distance stuff.
My family does not support the marriage because of "being too young and not financially ready" since they think we will fail.
Her family is not too hot about it but they are supportive. All of her family married around 18.
The Army is going to give me ,000 next November in 2009.
I do know she is the one for me and I want to take her to the temple. We have the same values, have been through our fights and near break ups but we love each other more afterwards. She has completed a year of college. I want the best for us but since she lives 1,300 miles away the long distance kills (we have always been long distance). We are planning on her moving down in January and getting married two weeks later. We plan on announcing it to our families in three weeks. I just want some input because I hate getting into it with my parents thinking I am making the worst mistake of my life but I honestly think we can make it, and once I am a Army officer we will be okay. I am already in my career field and I do have good time management, and discipline, because if I didn’t the Army would not be giving me a full ride to college and a officer commission in 2011.
I would like some advice and comments.
This winter break we are spending 4 weeks together and when we see each other we spend atleast 3 weeks together.
