Getting a divorce and it’s gonna be a nasty custody battle she wants join the military will she loose her daughter if they are both in the service?

My wife and I are getting a divorce. Since we do not have a lot of money/assets, I wanted to get a mediator. My wife has told me she is hiring a lawyer. She only works part time and would not be able to pay for the lawyer. Am I going to be required to pay for her lawyer to protect her interests??

My girl just got totally pissed when I said I’d never marry unless we had a prenup. The way I look at it, you don’t buy car insurance while planning on getting in to an accident… so I’m not wanting a prenup while planning on getting a divorce later. I just don’t get why she’s mad. Opinions?

My mom and step dad are getting a divorce. My brother and sisters are all kids of my step dad and have known him their whole lives. I’m 13 and my oldest sibling is going to be 9 soon. The oldest is sort of slow and they all don’t know whats going on. So how do I help them cope a little after the divorce? I’m already their second mother with everything happening but how do I help them?

Just curious! Some people say no matter what the contract say the judges makes the final say in divorce. Does a prenuptial even work in court? My brother is getting a divorce tomorrow he did set up a prenup before they got married I’m just very curious.

My wife and I are getting a divorce. She is in the army and we have a joint account with USAA. We do our banking through there and have an auto loan. From what I understand only military can be members so what happens to me after we divorce? I love USAA and would love to retain my membership.

I know if I was married I would in a heartbeat! I think people these days are stupid for not getting a divorce when the time is right. Anyone who cheats on their spouse is not worthy or marriage as far as I’m concerned. People don’t seem to stay together very long these days and I guess thats sad. Although I don’t have a wife that does not mean I can’t be happy. I cannot understand how people think that marriage is the beginning of happiness. Some of the most miserable people these days are married people. And sluts and man whores seem to like to attempt to play the game of stealing someone’s spouse for a good time. Many marriages are corrupt or even perverse. It kinda makes you wonder if there is anyone out there for you at all. When your friend is asking you to have sex with his wife I think that can very well be classified as "Sick" or "perverse". People are too open to sex and mind games these days. I think a person is better off single.
People who mistreat their spouse or their children are just as bad as the worst serial killers. They deserve to be miserable. And in most cases after they have burned all their bridges; THEY ARE! And no need for a prison because they are in their own prison.
People like this deserve: "NO MERCY!" and no compassion or sympathy whatsoever.
Its not a phobia! Its called "COMMON SENSE!". It used to be about love. Now its about sex and competition. Many single women love the challenge of trying to take a woman’s husband away from her. Or more less; destroy their marriage. And vice versa.
Well abby your right!!! I have a zero tolerance policy. In my world cheaters always lose! When people choose to hurt others its always best to give the cold shoulder and let it snow in hell before you ever speak to them again.

Have been married 6 yrs getting a divorce not a good relationship hubby cheated and got his ex. wife pregnant our first year of marriage along with another affair. I had a long standing on and off affair with an ex.bf that resulted in my 3 yr old son(hubby new this) and to my suprise i just found out my ex.bf fathered my 5 yr old daughter(i had no clue).The divorce has the potential to get very nasty.To avoid this i am considering hubbys deal to liquidate all marital assets?I would be walking away with nothing but a check and personals but i would also have to drop hubbys name from kids b-certificate?He said he would be willing to give alimony for 6 months but wants nothing to do with my kids. Take the deal or not?

Im not sure what the requirments will me. i know in some states they require you to take parenting classes and some states also have a law that says you cant live with someone else until you are remarried. im wondering what the laws are in Georgia.

Im thinking about getting a divorce. A friend of mine said that mediation is the best way to go. Alot of the stuff on the internet seems to say the same thing. If I choose to go through a divorce, can I just do mediation? And do I need to pay a lawyer?
