Im doing a Speech in favor of gay marriage for Pre-AP english 1.
The assignment was to choose a controversial topic and write a speech on it.Mine is in favor of same-sex marriage.Im having trouble finding facts.I either find something that is super anti-gay or a gay pride website.I need statistics,facts,events and dates.And i also need professional pictures of weddings to use as props,ones with no kissing.Just the 2 grooms or brides standing together.I tried the google images but I ended up with porn and home photos.

No one has been able to give me sound logic, like philosophy 101 logic why I should support gay marriage.

for speech class. i am against gay marriage in the debate (for it in real life lol) anyway, i need some good points for why it shouldn’t be allowed.

these are NOT good points because they commit many logical fallacies:
1-gay marriage is wrong because (insert religion) says so
2-gay marriage is wrong because it will not end in reproduction
3-gay marriage will lead to polygamy, etc

Is it just me, or is this comparison beyond offensive and degrading? What are gay marriage rights supporters going to say next, that denying gay marriage is comparable to genocide?

Do gay marriage rights supporters think that they are going to make people support gay marriage and gay adoption by having a victim mentality, having sob stories and being self-entitled bullies who force their beliefs onto others? It seems like no low is too low for them. I can’t believe people are comparing gay marriage to slavery, it’s just shocking and sickening.

Okay, so I am 16 years old and I have a girlfriend I have been with for almost 3 years. If we make it, we plan on getting married somewhere when she turns 18. What I want to know is, where is gay marriage legal in America? I also want to know if I get a marriage license here in Mississippi, would I be able to get married in another state? Or would I have to get a marriage license in the state I’m getting married in? If so, would we have to live in that state that we got married in? If all else fails, we plan on getting domestic partnership, and I want to know where this is legal? I apologize for asking so many questions.. I just want to be prepared because we’ll both be turning 17 next month, which leaves us and our families a year to plan for the ceremony. Thank you so much for taking your time to read this, and please give me the best answer you have! Any information would really help me. P.S. Do any of you know if Obama is going to try to make gay marriage legal in more states? Thanks!
