My daughter has bipolar but has been a single mom to three shildren since they were born. Ages 3 1/2, 4 1/2 and newborn. The father has been in and out of their lives since they beginning. They got married last year and split up again after 3 months. He always tries to upset her and make her angry then calls the police and says she is a danger to her children (bipolar). She is breast feeding and can’t take meds and is not a danger. She has provided a home, clothes, takes to doctors appts, school, etc. He doesn’t even keep a job. He took the kids and filed for a divorce then they reconciled for a few months which made his custody papers null. He used them anyway and took the kids. Now we are going to court. I don’t know what he has up his sleeve now but his mom has everything to do with it because he is unable to do anything on his own. He has a 14 year old that his mom raises and another somewhere else. He doesn’t even pay support. Do you think we will win in court?
I just wanted to add to my previous. When the ex tried to take the children after they reconciled he told the police we were hiding the children. One police officer told us we did not have to answer the door because it was a civil matter. Then he came again and the police let him take one of them after he grabbed the other one from school with old but most recent paperwork from court. It was the old order before they reconciled. It is a mess but I feel the police were in the wrong and there are too many things unsaid. It’s sad the children have to go through with this behavior. Hopefully the judge will see the whole picture.

My husbands nieces ages 12 and 15 are in a very bad situation with there parents such as drugs, alcohol, abandonment and have been dealing with it for all there lives. We had custody of them for 3 years, but under financial difficulties we had to return them due to our great state of Wisconsin does not help out with anything unless you make under so much money, regardless of what kind of bills you have. If you make too much to bad for you and the extra mouths you have to feed… anyways that’s another story. We are now able to financially take them and never give them back. We still have the house we bought for all of us to live in including our two children and we still have there beds etc. We originally got them because we were able to prove their parents were on drugs when the court ordered drug tests. Now they are hooked on pharmaceutical drugs and have been caught going to different doctors and pharmacy’s to get there drugs. Someone had mentioned the possibility of the kids divorcing their parents? What is that? whats that mean for them?
Hey Roger seems to me you have an awful lot of time on your hands to be able to get to level 4 in about 2 months you are probably one of those ones who does live off our taxes, so Shut it. We pay taxes too and we never asked for that kind of help. Not to mention it must be paid back by the parents.

Hi guys,
In America, the divorce rate on marriages are 50% or a little bit higher. However I was told that doctors are at a greater risk of family issues involving divorce, drug & alcohol abuse, and issues with their children then your average couples. Why does that occur to them with greater risks?

My wife has been diagnosed with ruptured discs, and degenerative disc disease, she just turned 30, and I would say 25 days out of 30 she is generally in a lot and I mean alot of pain. Because the pain is chronic, not much they can do, so the doctors are medicating the problem. Between the pain and the pills, our love life is non existent, Here is my question, does any one know of any less stessful "positions". She is associating sex with her back pain, and she pretty much no longer wants to have anything to do with it. I completely understand, I just would like to tell her that there are ways that we can do this where we can limit the pain. any info will help…..

I am currently married and living in upstate NY with my 3 children. My husband and I have agreed to divorce but cannot settle custody questions. He says he will fight for physical custody, which I am certain he won’t get (I’m their primary– virtually exclusive– caregiver) but which will probably cost me a fortune to battle over. I would also like to move home to Ohio, about 4 hours from our current residence, because I have no family in NY and have much better job prospects and access to free child care back home. I’m completely willing to abide by any reasonable visitation schedule my husband requests, but he says I cannot move out of state without his consent. Is this true? I’m a stay at home mom; he loves the kids but has never bathed them, taken them to the doctors, made them breakfast, etc. I (we) be living in poverty if I’m forced to stay here. Will family court provide me with a lawyer– he’s cut off my access to the bank account and I don’t know how I’d hire an attorney. Thanks for any help I can get.

My husband told me our marriage is falling apart. He is a great guy and I love him, but we have no sex life. Maybe once every 3 weeks or less. I feel terrible about this but honestly don’t know what to do, I have had no or very little interest in sex since my misscarriage 3 years ago. I have tried everything and can’t fix this problem. I really do love my husband but am beginning to despise myself. What can I do.. doctors, birth control, friend’s advice… nothing has helped…

Im going to law school and im looking into divorce as my specialty. However Ive read in what few publications i could find on the subject that many schools put divorce as a back burner field and some are trying to weed out the programs that support it as a specialty. apparently it is believed that Divorce lawyers are not the best or brightest of lawyers…. So here’s my questions
1.) What are the best law schools for an up and coming divorce Lawyer?
2.) Why is Divorce looked down upon by other lawyers like personal injury lawyers are?
3.) Where are some of the best places in the U.S. to practice Divorce Law… (National average is approx. 50% of marriages end in divorce and many dont last past twoYears anymore, that’s last I looked so Im sure some one will ream me on the figures… But with those numbers suppose anywhere is good.)
Any other advice on the field from people with experience would be great. I know I want to be a lawyer, I dont really wanna do anything else so persuasion against it or law school would be futile. I realize some lawyers are broke… But so are some doctors and small countries too…
If it helps at all I’m thinking of practicing in Oregon, as it seems to be a place I would like…minus the liberal freaky hippies and the extreme GOP’s there…I’m not positive though…

According to their website: "Physical therapy works closely with HBII’s to assist in all injury assessments". I used to dance and would love to work with dancers or at least get some observation hours with the physical therapists who work with the dancers. The website is vague about which doctors or hospitals work with them, only stating that doctors are involved with the dancers injuries and training.
