First, the basics: I got married in Alabama, and now live in Georgia. I have been married for 4 years, and separated for two of those awful years. One year after we separated, I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy, which has recently been discharged. We are in the process of drawing up divorce papers, however, my soon to be Ex claims that because I did not include himself as one of my creditors in my bankruptcy, that he could try to collect the debt that we have accumulated together over the years, which he now is solely responsible for. Is it true that, even though I filed bankruptcy, that I still owe him for half of our bills, or is he trying to trick me???

My boyfriend is in the military and stationed overseas. He and his wife have been legally separated for 9 1/2 years. A year ago he filed divorce papers, so that we can get married. She has the papers, but didn’t sign them. They have a daughter together, and he pays child support, and says that he has agreed to alimony. However, she has refused to sign the papers, and won’t give an explanation as to why.
So my question, can the marriage still be completely dissolved, even if she refuses to sign?

I live in NY, separated from my wife for about a year. In July, the divorce papers sent to my wife by certified mail. Receives and says she will sign, 30 days pass and called my lawyers saying that she will respond. Spend another week without receiving any answer. My lawyers recommended me to do other divorce papers and send them in person. My question is this: My lawyers recommended me to do other divorce papers and send them in person. The papers are not valid if she decided not signed?

The divorce papers were self filed. A case # was assigned. Then attorneys were hired and all documents superseded original papers filed. I have a case # from the original papers but it does not come up under a search of court cases.

Yet, still wants to play house. He got me to agree to refinance the house to lower our payment which was a success. Now, he wants to sell his truck and dump that payment and purchase an old car that will be paid for.
He tell me he is not pushing to work on us "YET" but, wants the debt paid and if he feels better when the debt is gone he will keep trying in the marriage. He always says he wants divorce yet throws me crumbs that give me hope that it won’t happen. I don’t get it? He says he loves, but not enough to be married. Yet he still has sex with me and I still take care of my duties around the house like its all normal. We have 3 kids and I am currently not working due too having an infant that is 7 months and day care is outrageous in cost. Plus, gas is high. Its cheaper if I am home. We are surving an affair that has been over for 14 months. Yet, he called his affair partner just to get back at me during a fight and said he did it on purpose to hurt me. WTF?!? Now he tells me if I wait for the debt to go away and he feels better about us then he would be happy, but if I don’t wait he is ok with that too. We’ve been through hell since I found out about the affair almost 2 years ago. I had a bed ridden pregnancy and she was 2 months premature and in the NICU for a month. He confessed his love for me on our front porch when she was coming home. I’ve still been working through the pain of infidelity and I am now at a place to give the marriage one more chance, but he says he is not in that place anymore and just wants our debt gone before he decides. He confuses the crap out of me. He wants us to join a gym together and he makes other future plans that he involves me in. But, he has filled out divorce papers himself and sits on it and wants me to fill out my side of it. I don’t want too. So is he cake eating or terribly confused??? He says we’ve done to much damage to each other over the years and that’s why he wants out. Yet, he cooks for me, talks to me kindly

I’m filing divorce papers..I never got around to changing my last name to my married name on my social security or drivers license. When filing my divorce papers, do I use my maiden name or my married last name? Thanks for any help!

If I were to name the "other woman" on my divorce papers does that pose any benefit? What does that do?

My son has a 4 year old son and now a new baby (not sure if it is his). He hasn’t seen his son for over a month because his wife went into hiding. He is trying to serve her divorce papers and to establish temporary visitation. There is a status conference in 3 days, however, she has yet to be served due to not knowing her whereabouts. What can he do?
