and prevent them from starting over and building a new life. Therefore many men think it is best to avoid marriage, to not even risk being exposed to the anti-man divorce laws in America and some countries of Europe.

Do you think their view of divorce is apt, or exaggerated, even wrong ?

Why ? Why not ?
"It all equals out, doesn’t it ?" Except that women are not willing to enter a set up where they "lose", I do not see that many divorce women with children getting remarried.

we got married 21 years ago in Pakistan, she is a usa citizen and im a green card holder. We have 3 kids. Which divorce laws will our divorce fall under and what will be financial liabilities on both of us?

Vets are trying to get Oklahoma HB 528 thur to a vote on the Senate floor but Oklahoma Family Law Attorneys are worried that it will cut into their lunch tickets. They also have been spreading BAD information and making up fables to confuse and create hard feelings. Writing untruths in local newspapers even pretending to be a retired military members and saying how they liked paying the ex spouse alimony on websites, They must think where dumb as rocks
——Also HB 917 this protects our Vets from greedy ex spouses that want a portion of the military members disability esp after if they had been seriously hurt or maimed while in the service. Last week I talked with a army sergent at the VA that had one leg and one arm missing and his ex spouse divorced him here in Oklahoma because she couldn’t bare to look at his missing arms and legs. Too add insult to the injury A Oklahoma JUDGE awarded 50% OF HIS DISABILITY to his ex wife.
THIS IS THE REASON WE NEED FAIR DIVORCE LAWS FOR OUR MILITARY.
the sergent had no children and had been married 6-8 years while in the ARMY. He told me that the lawyers and judge just called it discretionary income and gave it to his ex spouse as alimony. He was just a little bit bitter, do you blame him?

What is the age that divorce laws do not apply to children in Oregon?

In the USA, the divorce laws are in direct violation of God’s laws, as described in the old and new testament. Yes, USA Christians don’t say anything.

So why should we insist our marriage laws follow God’s laws…?

Divorce laws for Canadians living in US?

If a Canadian couple who reside and work in the US decide to divorce, are they subject to Canadian or American divorce laws? They have no green card, only a work visa, and there are children involved. The preference is to both remain in the US, but one spouse is considering returning to Canada with their children.
Can the spouse return with the kids?

I mean if a woman really wants to settle down with a man, she should have signed a prenuptial agreement, which means she is not in it for the money, but instead she is in it for the man.

Thoughts?

North American divorce laws seem very anti male, and prenuptial agreements can stop a woman from simply using and abusing a man!!

Were the old divorce laws really that bad?

I’m talking about the laws which existed before the "no-fault" divorce laws came in.

I wasn’t around at the time, but whenever I read or hear about them, they seem pretty sensible.

What was so wrong with them that they needed changing?

If two people meet and get married while stationed overseas(army), whose divorce laws are used? I heard it was the home of records, but what if the two have different home of records, say Washington state and Tennessee? Since they get are getting a divorce while still overseas, and the wife must leave and go back to the states, who gets the kids? I’m asking this for a friend, any advice is appreciated.

Wife is a German national, but a U.S. citizen, by marriage.
Husband is a U.S. citizen by birth.
Both live together in Italy.
There is a prenuptial agreement in place.
Residence is a private home in Italy, in the name of the wife.
Divorce is imminent……How will the U.S. divorce laws and/or Italian divorce laws affect this union?
What rights, if any, does the husband have for maintaining residence, prior to the divorce, in the home owned by the wife?
