My mother is in the middle of a divorce, going on 5 years, my father is a real pain as he’s a retired attorney and is delaying things all the time. My mothers attorney has dropped off the face of the planet, or died, but no notification has been given to my mother, so she is going broke and need a good divorce attorney willing to work for part of the estate potentially but we are not from texas where she is a resident(but not living there something about full time rving set their residence there). So we need a descent attorney any information would be great. Livingston texas was where everything was going on not sure if that matters.

I just found out my husband had multiple affairs. I want a divorce but since we have not been in the area long I do not know who is the best divorce attorney. My husband wants to make our marriage work so he is going to contest the divorce. I just want out! I have been searching online for an attorney but I can’t find any comments stating who is the best.
Please no comments on trying to make my marriage work. He has betrayed me in the worst way and I want a divorce and nothing is going to change my mind.
Thank You to all who can give me some advice.
To MMM who is her attorney and who is her husband’s attorney so I don’t make the mistake of going to them?

I found a bill in the mail yesterday showing that my husband has hired a divorce attorney. I committed adultery about two years ago and our marriage has not recovered from it. We have been sleeping in separate bedrooms for about 6 months. What do I need to do now? We own a home together and have three children under the age of 17. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. btw we live in Georgia.

So, my ex tells me his divorce attorney needs my medical information to put in the paperwork…um WHAT? Since when do you have to give up your personal medical information and bills to your ex’s attorney? My medical bills have nothing to do with my ex. They are my personal information, why does the attorney need them? Is this a true fact? That the attorney needs my medical bills to put in the divorce paperwork? Your comments are appreciated. Because I do not feel comfortable giving up that kind of personal info.

While going thru divorce my ex had a system installed at our business which allowed him, the GM and office manager (all who were on his side) monitor the office phones and computers. I was there while it was installed but told it was installation of phones for the apartments in the building. He printed/distributed my personal emails and listened to and read correspondence between my divorce attorney and myself. The divorce resulted in a great inequality in asset division in part because of this. I only discovered it after being awarded the business and found everything still monitored. I had an IT tech remove it but now have no phone service and can find no one that knows how to work on it and the company he had won’t cooperate. I believe it is owned by one man and my ex is paying him off. I am pretty sure my home computer and possibly phone were also monitored and had the IT tech secure them. Isn’t this illigal and if so who do you report it to? I contacted the FBI who told me it was a local police problem. I reported to them but they arent doing anything. Do I have any legal help from anyone?

I had a legal meeting earlier this week where a contract attorney made a statement about marriage. We were signing some certificates defining ownership in a corporation and he asked if either partner was married as those spouses would need to be included on the stock certificates. Both men were married but didn’t want to include their spouses and possible separations were pending.
He said, "As soon as you’re planning a wedding, you need to consult a divorce attorney. Leave a retainer and explain the financial situation, this way when the inevitable happens, you’re prepared"

My disabled friend needs to fire her divorce attorney because the only thing that he has done was to take my friend’s money and has not started on her divorce case and he continues to lie to her by giving her new filing dates. After my friend confronted him about her case a few days ago than he admitted that he has not started on her divorce case.
My friend’s power of attorney told her that she will be reporting him to the bar association after she request a full refund but my friend needs to find a new divorce attorney that will properly handle her divorce case and who does not cost too much. Since my friend has called several divorce attorney for 7 years and they all cost too much except the one that she has hired but once again he has not started on her divorce case and continue to give my friend different filing dates.

Ok, my disabled friend’s divorce attorney suppose to had filed a divorce case on her behalf a few weeks ago and after my friend called the clerk’s office they informed her that no divorce case has been filed on her behalf.
After my friend informed her divorce attorney that the clerk’s office told her that he did not file than he told her that he was going to file last week but my friend called the clerk’s office on 03/18/11, they told her that he still has not filed a divorce case on her behalf.
What should my disabled friend do since her divorce attorney continues to tell her that he is going to file a divorce case on her behalf and he has not even started on her case?
Now, my friend’s divorce attorney is not responding to her emails.
Unfortunately, my friend’s divorce attorney is the cheapest in her state.

My disabled friend divorce attorney suppose to had filed a divorce on her behalf a few weeks ago and the second time is this week and the clerk’s office told my friend that her attorney has not filed for her divorce yet.
When should my friend contact her divorce attorney again because this is the second time that he suppose to had filed her divorce case and he has not filed yet?
My friend contacted her divorce attorney earlier this week and he told her that he would be filing this week but she called the clerk’s office on Friday (03/18/11), and they told her that no divorce case has been filed on her behalf.
The first time that my friend’s divorce attorney should to had filed her divorce case was a few weeks ago and she called the clerk’s office than too and they told her that no divorce case has been filed on her behalf.
