my husband is looking to file for divorce and go for full custody on our two young children. I work full time and watches them during the day, after that Its pretty much me watching them. He doesn’t work, he got injured a few years ago at work and was let go but never qualifed for disability so we are living off my income. He wants me to be removed from the property, we rent the house from my inlaws, and he is seeking to and considering putting a restraining order out on me saying im an unfit mother. I’m not unfit, I love my children very much, I dont drink, smoke, do drugs, I dont hit, hurt, or harm them. Yes like everyone out there, we make dumb choices and decsions and kids do fall, trip, get bumps and bruises but i’m not unfit. He said he has 4 years of evidence and witnesses saying otherwise. I tend to think he’s just scaring me but I dont know, i’ve been an emotional wreck over all of this. I dont want to lose my children! He;s making my life hell right now and I dont want to just up and leave and take the kids because isn’t that kidnapping them? Im scared he’s going to do something to me. He got so mad yesterday…my son was playing with the garage door remote and I didnt know he actually opened the door I went to bed and my husband went out to walk the dog and saw it was opened. he left a note to me saying that I will be paying a huge price for this and threatened that one day i’ll come home from work and see that him and the kids are gone, or he’s going to trash the crap out of everything I own. He’s making me a prisioner in the house. I have to walk outside and around the house to enter into the kitchen, he uses my purse as his garbage can, he dumbed ice cubes in my purse yesterday and took all my underwear and stuck it in a tuperware bowl with water in it. He’s doing such silly childish things. He did email an attorney and is likely going this week to file. WHat do I do? I’m scaredd if I try to go file first, hell will be paid. I mean what if he’s been bluffing this whole time? He’s threatened divorce numbers or times before and yet we stayed together for 5 and 1/2 years. Can I still see an attorney and document everything and tell them to hold off on filing till then he does? I should be allowed a counter agreement or something right? Thanks

I had file a complaint with the EEOC for a discrimination , that my husband was terminated when they found out his medical condtion, which is a disability, and EEOC advise me that we should take the mediation if they settle out early? but is there any money in agreeing to this? His company is fighting unemployment as well, its a mess.

There’s 2 properties, one worth 0k & the other worth k. The properties & my ex husband are in Alaska, I’m in Colorado with a disability, making it impossible for me to travel there & take care of things myself. They are in his name only. I do not have any knowledge of real-estate or property laws & I have been severely screwed over by my ex, his shyster lawyer & the divorce trial Judge already. I trust no one in the so-called "justice" system anymore.

My ex is supposed to sell the properties (that are considered marital assets) & he gets to pay off any & all of HIS debt with the proceeds, then whatever is left over, he is to give me 60%. But nothing is selling & he keeps adding all he wants to this so called debt. He now claims it is k & he has recently implied that I’m liable for half of it. Which I’m not. But he’s got a lawyer & judge in his back pocket & will do whatever it takes to screw me over yet again.

Well, he just made me an offer to settle, but I don’t like it, at all. Its sneaky & deceitful, just like him.

So, do I need a lawyer? What kind of lawyer should I get, a property lawyer or divorce lawyer, or something else? & which state should I look for one, Colorado or Alaska? I do not have any money to hire a great lawyer, not that I know how to find one anyways, & I know that lots of lawyers offer free consults, but will this be enough to get the legal advice I need? How do I find the right lawyer?

We have no children together & were married 21 years. My name is not on the properties, because he bought them as part of his business while we were married.

My friend got hrt on the job, to the point of where he was almost paralyzed. His wife has become very shrewish and its a very sad long story, They have a 5 year old son and, my friend has no money for an attorney , the shrewish wife has a small trust and so has gotten an attorney. My friend has no support system ( i live several states away myself) and he needs help.He CANNOT afford a lawyer. Legal aid and all that have been a bust, he is in debt and living on his disability from work. He was talking about suicide as the wife is a control freak and going to make sure he never sees the kid except ON HER TERMS (she is not a well woman has some OCD and control issues BIG TIME it seems like ) My friend bought them homes and supported them by driving a truck and she is going to charge that he was never home, but he was supporting them. he never fooled around. they live in Texas. we have searched the internet for support groups and legal help to no avai
The woman badmouths my firend to the little 5 year old son, has said Daddy never bought you your toys that she did,, but of course my friend was on the road and the wife got the PAYCHECK to take the boy to buy toys. its breking my heart and I am worried, my friend is a good guy and needs some serious help all he wants is fair divorce so he can see his son and have a healthy relationship with the boy but the wife is not letting that happen she seens to need to destroy my friend. she was very belittleing of my friend in front of the child and even my friends family that went to Texas to visit him.
