my husband is in prison. we have no children. can i file uncontested divorce without an attorney. just get th forms at the court house and fill it up and file it and just pay for the court fee. i bought a house with his name 3 months ago while he was in prison.

I have been trying to look up a marriage certificate (I do not know the county it was from, because it could have been in one of three states). I have all the information on the groom, the date of the marriage, and the first name of the bride. Every "free" record search I try, then goes on to as me to pay a fee to join or for the records. Anyone know of one that is really free?
As I said, I don’t know the county, so just going to the court house is not an option.

Where do I send my divorce papers?

My husband filed for divorce. I’m going to sign the papers tomorrow in front of a Notory. Do I send them back to his lawyer or take them to the court house?

What to do when online divorce papers are denied?

My (ex) wife and I just filed for divorce. We used an online paper work site and filed with the court house In GA. We have a child and it is uncontested. We split everything for our child 50/50. We paid 0 for the online paperwork and 0 in court fees. Our paperwork just came back and they said it is denied but cannot tell us why. We have until Jan 8th to figure it out without paying the court fee again. What can we do?

I was reading that you can go to the court house and get papers to file a divorce for super cheap. How does it work and is that in every state?

it’s for the debate team @ school. here it is.

Fag. Queer. Butch. Homo. Dike. These are just some of the countless terms for homosexuals. Gay Cancer was one of the first terms for AIDS. Homosexuals have dealt with slander and derogatory terms from everyday people and the media for years. Decades after civil rights laws have been passed, homosexuals still cannot be legally married. A very good portion of homosexuals live with their partner as if they were already married, they just aren’t legally bound. Five states and one district have granted same sex marriages: Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Washington, D.C. I feel like most people who are against gay marriage are against it because of their religion. I can understand if you don’t want homosexuals to get married in a church, as most Christians believe it goes against God’s Word. I am a Christian, and according to my Bible, it says to be open and accepting to everyone, not just heterosexuals. Regardless of religion, America has the separation of church and state, so couldn’t a same-sex couple go down to the court house and obtain a civil union without disturbing any Christians? Another argument that has been made is that homosexuals don’t have the ability to have a lasting relationship, however, most of the homosexuals that have this problem are young. Look at our high school, and count how many relationships will last. For both heterosexuals and homosexuals, it takes a lot of maturity to have a long lasting relationship. They may not have the same sexual orientation as a lot of people, but that does not come close to meaning they are terrible, promiscuous people who don’t want a family or a future with their significant other. Yet another argument is made that marriage is for procreation. However, there are orphanages all over the world with children whose parents died, or had to give them up due to other circumstances. There are also a lot of married couples who don’t want children or are infertile, should they have to give up their marriage? Of course not, but because homosexuals don’t have the ability to have kids, they aren’t allowed to be married. In addition to that, one of the biggest problems our world has is overpopulation. Gay marriage would preach tolerance to kids in schools. I always hear people say “you’re gay!” or “you’re a fag!” as just another run of the mill insult. In southern Nevada there have been four reported gay teens who were bullied to the point where they killed themselves so far this school year. Most arguments made against gay marriage are completely easy to get through, so the truth is, most people are simply not comfortable with the idea of same sex marriage. Eventually, however, the homosexual community will overcome it, as every other minority has overcome prejudice in the past, especially in our country. The problem is, same-sex marriage is a civil rights issue. I don’t think homosexuals can chose whether they want to be in a relationship with a man or a woman, because if they could, wouldn’t they chose the easier life? Wouldn’t it make sense to decide to be fully heterosexual to avoid being looked at as a second class citizen by the American government? Minorities in the past have gone through similar battles, however they couldn’t get jobs, go to schools, vote, or even be considered actual citizens. Today’s most controversial minority goes to our schools, votes on the first Tuesday in November, works in our communities, and were born & raised in our country, which is supposed to be known as the land of the free, and the only thing they want is something as simple as a marriage, and our government won’t grant them that. It’s been decades since other minority groups have been hosed down with fire hoses and had dogs unleashed on them for trying to obtain the same civil rights as everyone else. Are we going to go back to these days where there’s fighting in the streets, or are we going to accept the fact that, while homosexuals have a different lifestyle, they are still humans & they deserve to have this one right that every other person in the world has been granted?

Where do I go to file for child custody?

I want to take my son out of state. I went to see a lawyer yesterday, he told me to immediately file for custody and then leave with the child. I want to know where to go? Court house? Is it just a form or does it have to open a case? Even if I’m not married to the father? I know I’ll have to come back up for court. THe problem is that I have no family here, not one person and no job, I’m a full time nursing student. So I wouldn’t have anywhere else to go.

We have agreed on everything, and now we are going to file the papers at the court house, do we have to appear infront of a judge to have the papers signed? How does that work?? I don’t want to see my soon to be ex.

I don’t want a divorce but I would like a legal separation…we have problems and will be living apart, but for reasons of child care, need it legally handled. Can I do it myself, can I get forms at the court house or must I buy some package online, and are there residency requirements. I am a stay at home mom, so hiring a lawyer is kind of out of the question. Any help would be appreciated!

Do gay couples want either/or? Does marriage give you the same rights as a civil union?

My thinking is that marriage is done in churches by ministers, pastors, priests. And a civil union is done by a judge in a court house or at the couples home or else where. Am I right?

Please tell me the differences and what gay couples want?
