When is it time for couple counseling?

Can it help? Where do you begin? We’ve been together for a long time, 6 years in fact, not married, just coming off of a ‘time apart’ where she did things that I’m having a hard time dealing with. We live together right now but it hasn’t been roses. We’ve been dealing with many issues, a lot of it seems to be me and my fault. Some people say that couple counseling can help, some people say that it can do more bad than good. Any experiences?

I broke up with the father of my child and filed for child custody (sole physical and legal) as things got pretty bad. A month ago, we decided to work on things in therapy, couple counseling, classes etc which we’ve been doing the past 6 months. I’m now at a loss as to how to handle the custody date. Any ideas? Should we just agree on joint? It’s very important to me that he has time with his father either way.

My husband and I are been going trough some problems so we are thinking of going to marriage counseling. And I would like to know what was the outcome for you guys that been or are attending marriage/couple counseling. Please only answer if you do have experience on counseling. And be respectful. Thank you for your time.

Difference between Couple counseling and sex counseling?

We as a couple have deep relationship problems that includes sex as well. We want to get help from a counselor. Now what exact is Couple counseling and sex counseling. Are these two different things? Also how do you differentiate between them. When I looked for couple counselors in my area on Google, I found quite a mixed results.
Please guide me to search what I need. Thanks in advance.
