Some parents that are really deep into Christianity. That they only want their children to date other Christians. I find that confusing, because my friends tells me that Christians are suppose to love other Religions as well as their own. So if you could please, let me hear your opinions on this subject. My finance and I are being married in the court house to make it legal, then having his dad do a ceremony on another day because his dad is the person my fiance respects the most. We are both Christians and want to do the right thing. Because we are not getting married by a pastor we were not planning on getting counseling. We are going through a counseling book that is very thourogh.

Tell me, in your experience, did you get much out of counceling? Do you think it is necesary?
I am actually not trying to avoid counseling… I just want to know what people suggest.

It seems to me that the foremost image of Christian marriage is that between Christ and the church, the Bride of Christ. Yet, even though that is a gendered image, the Bride has consisted of both men and women.

So why interpret marriage gender references in the Bible literally, when Christians have never done so for the most important image of Christian marriage?

I’ve known several Christians who get upset at the idea of a separation of church and state.

However, these same people were freaked out thinking the current US president is Muslim.

So the separation of church in state is bad until another religion threatens to replace theirs in the state?
These people don’t want other peoples’ religious views imposed on them..Why can’t those opposed to the separation of church and state realize that that is what they are doing to everyone else by insisting that their religion has a place in our laws?

I was reading on a website that stated that divorces are illegal in th philippines. I also notice that the majority of christians in the philippines are catholics, which would help explain the need for this law.

It’s seems that people feel the need to mess with gay people and gay marriage, even though THEY are not gay. It seems to cover a wide array of people although most people are blaming the Mormons for spending million to pass Prop H8. So now, in order to preserve the sanctity of marriage even MORE there is a group who is introducing new State legislature to ban DIVORCE in order to preserve the sanctity of marriage even more. You see it’s not only the Mormons but a whole bunch of people who are against the teachings of Jesus Christ where he says NOT to Judge Yest LE Be Judged. People with nothing better to do just have to make OTHER people’s lives miserable as well.

Since the Catholic Church does NOT allow divorce, the new legislature concludes that the state should not condone it either since that goes against religion. It’s a valid argument too. A group of people figured that if people want to deny gay marriage to preserve sanctity that it’s only fair to ban divorce since that preserves sanctity as well. Won’t it be funny when ALL of these people who got divorces find that their divorces have been annulled and they are STILL married to the love of their teenage life!? Bliss indeed.

The verse says that Christians should NOT attend Pagan Worship Ceremonies where golden calves are being worshipped and men are sleeping with men and women with women.

It bans going to Pagan Ceremonies. It does NOT say that sleeping men with men is bad but uses that as a descriptive of the ceremony itself. That is an unfair translation of the Bible and it was never meant in the fashion in which you are using it. The wording is CLEAR if you do NOT take it out of context.
No offense, it’s just that I have studied this stuff a bit too much to fall for THAT one! I have had evangelicals and internet ministers debate me for WEEKS about gays in the Bible and have NEVER had one able to show me something in the Bible that I could not disprove WITH the Bible. BUT, that was a nice try. It works on the uninitiated!

like when muslim women go in court, they have to take off the burka, and they cant get on the ground and pray before they go in the cour room in the court biulding. but christians just go in and dont have to take off their crosses and can swear on a bible if they want.

so why is it so pro christian, but not muslim, if its supposed to be separation of church and state?
