Hears my case; I would like to add my name to my husbands bank account but I worry child support will take his money. I have a child from a previous relationship which I am surrendering my rights over to her aunt. After words if I add my name to his account will child support take his money for my arrears? No current child support.

Can Child support enforcement put a payment on hold for 6 months because there may be another child born to the Person paying child support? As well as take the full payment amount out of the arrears, even though the payment was never sent and may be split between 2 children.

I am a father that is paying off his arrears every month…..I have seen the error of my way and doing right by paying off the arrears. I just checked my bank account and the child support services took every penny I had to pay my monthly bills. Oh, by the way….my child is now 21…..how can they do this….if I am in compliance with my monthly payments?

My son’s father was recently fired from his job (on purpose), he plans on collecting unemployment from the state of Illinois gov’t. Does the unemployment office allot a certain amount for child support?
Also, should I take any action to report him to the child support office, to notify them that he is temporarily unemployed so that they can have an account of the money he will owe in arrears?

Invariably, when a mother claims to be owed arrears, or a father asking about the arrears he owes, the answers frequently center around derogatory comments about deadbeat dads and not supporting their kids.
How many do you think actually refuse to pay as opposed to being in arrears due to a job layoff or injury?
Child Support Enforcement does not advertise that they provide free legal representation to either parent (payor or payee), upon request, for an increase or decrease in support.

My ex’s income tax refund was intercepted by the IRS for the arrears he owes me. Child support says it could take up to 10 weeks before I get it. He doesn’t owe arrears for any other children and we both live in the same county in NY. I’m just curious as to how fast it may be compared to how long they say it can take.

Background: My husband and his ex are both ordered to pay child support when the other has custody. We are in the middle of a child support battle where the ex has a state appointed attorney and we are paying out the a$$ to our attorney. The ex is behind in her child support obligation and we are heading to court this week. Can we object to her having a state appointed attorney if she is in arrears?

I have been paying child support for two years straight. I have actually been paying 5 over the amount ordered trying to make up for arrears. My only income is disability so I am on a fixed income. My children also get money from my disability. The total my ex gets per month is 00. Can I count the money she gets from my disability as payment of my child support and send her less out of my pocket? Serious answers only please.

On the child support website, it says my sons father has 00 in arrears. Is that the back child support he owes? Thanks!
