Since women always earn less than men, should Congress pass rules that they not be required to pay alimony?
We are finally getting control, with more women working than men, and booting the lazy ass men out, but now they are demanding alimony. Being that men have always kept women earning less, shouldn’t The President ask Congress to pass rules preventing this?

Women don’t always earn less than men.
lol seriously?
If anyone is going to pay alimony, it should be decided on an individual basis, depending on how much the people concerned earn.
And I see no reason to rejoice in the fact that more women than men are working. It merely reduces women to the status of work horses.
This is a joke right?
Spoken like a stereotypical air-headed feminist. I smell a troll.
You know what though? They actually DID pass a law in my former hometown that it is illegal to charge women a cover at night clubs. I have never been able to rationalize this. That someone would actually take this up as a cause. I guess they relied on their victim status or something. But anyway it’s an obviously sexist law, like what you are suggesting would be. So no, that is not a good idea. It’s too feminist.
Since men always pay for nice gifts, should it not be legally mandated that they earn more in order to pay for it?
What is that you say? My basic premise is false? Sorry, I was under the impression that blatant lies were in vogue. At least in this particular question.
"Since women always earn less than men"
LOL…

No, laws should not be passed. Alimony should be completely done away with.
men havn’t caused women to earn less, women as a group have, thats based on facts. your logic is absurd since income is a case by case basis. The legal structure has to be fair, and since it finally is you can’t cry if it doesn’t work for your situation.
I call troll.
Feminists want to share equality with men, not dominate them, control them, or create asinine laws to get back at them.
The point of alimony is that when a couple marries, one partner may increase his/her earning potential, while the other does not, perhaps due to keeping house, raising children, or otherwise investing in the marriage itself. Alimony is meant to protect the partner whose earning potential has either remained stationary or decreased as a result of the marriage.
So as gender roles become more fluid and more men end up not developing their earning potentials because they are taking on caretaking roles, of course they should be able to expect alimony. It’s really the sort of thing that needs to be decided on a case-by-case basis.
OH! Please , please , please can I have some of what you are smoking?
** shakes head in disappointment**
awww, poor little victim.
The sad part is that you are probably not joking.
Edit: Why do people always assume stupid people are trolls? Trolls are actually quite intelligent, and they do not make it to level four.
If something that stupid was ever going to get "passed" it would be by this Pres. and this congress! Women should just be satisfied with the fact we let them work.
You’re being sarcastic, aren’t you? Alimony should only go to spouses who were too irresponsible to build up their own income or savings during marriage.
Get real! Why should a law be passed?
