I cannot speak for BU, specifically, but it does have a long standing, excellent reputation.
PT, in general, is a competitive entrance graduate program. Minimum GPAs are usually set at 3.0, but realistically, students who are actually admitted into programs usually have a much higher GPA. Generally speaking, most PT programs have an acceptance rate between 20-40%. This means that about 60-80% of students who meet the qualifications will not be admitted.
I have a family member that is a professor at Sargent (OT not PT). It is extremely competitive and the majority of the students are overachievers that cannot even tolerate getting an A-. Also Sargent considers a D to be a failing grade. Attendance is MANDATORY and you can fail a class for missing more than one or two. It is a very tough school because they want make sure you have the necessary professional skills (who wants an underachiever treating their injuries after an accident?). If you’re serious about it, then you definitely want to go to Sargent but if you’re an average student you may not be able to get in. Good luck!
